Cereal Milk No-Churn Ice Cream

Cereal milk cupcakes. Cereal milk doughnuts. Cereal milk panna cotta.

One of our favorite no-hassle breakfast staples is having a moment in the spotlight, and we couldn’t be more excited. Cereal milk confections are on the rise, from cereal milk lattes at your local coffee shop to cereal milk ice creams at your hometown ice cream parlor.

Of course, it’s the ice cream we’re especially fond of. This no-churn cereal milk ice cream recipe is incredibly easy to whip up and will taste like your favorite cereal, whether you mix in the additional whole cereal pieces or not.

We’ve included video instructions detailing how to make the recipe below, and we used three of our favorite cereals: fruity flakes, cinnamon squares, and chocolate peanut butter puffs. Give this one a go with any sweetened cereal and have fun pairing it with your favorite Joy Cone.

What You’ll Need:

  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 3 cups of your favorite sweetened cereal (for steeping)
  • 1 ½ cups cereal (optional add-in)
  • ¼ cup cereal (optional, to sprinkle on top of ice cream)
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • Your favorite Joy Cones

What To Do:

  1. Chill a 9-by-5-inch metal loaf pan in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  2. Combine the cream and 3 cups of cereal in a large bowl and steep for 20 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing on the cereal to extract as much cream as possible (you should have about 2 cups), while you catch the liquid in a large bowl under the strainer. Discard the cereal.
  4. Whip the cereal cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes.
  5. Gently fold the sweetened condensed milk into the whipped cream until smooth and well combined.
  6. Optional: Add 1 ½ cups whole cereal pieces into the mix.
  7. Transfer to the chilled loaf pan and, if you choose, sprinkle whole cereal pieces on top.
  8. Cover with plastic and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.
  9. Scoop and pair with your favorite Joy Cone.
